My Story
Dr. Viva Zima is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in Arizona, with full-practice authority to diagnose, prescribe and treat clients in primary care. Dr. Zima obtained her Masters of Nursing (MSN) from the University of Phoenix, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Arizona State University (May 2023). As part of her doctoral studies, Dr. Zima completed research in diabetes prevention with families in vulnerable and minority populations.
Before becoming a DNP, APRN, FNP-C, Dr. Zima had extensive experience as a registered nurse (RN) with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) in the Neonatal ICU, Adult ICU, and various health care specialties. She also teaches nursing at a local university.
Family-centred care is a known driver of health outcomes, which is also a passion and focus of health assessments and care planning with Dr. Zima's practice.
When Dr. ZIma is not working, she is either hiking, biking, or practicing yoga with her 2 small dogs, 2 grown daughters, and husband.
How We're Different
Sage Family Health is committed to making health care accessible. As a private practice provider, we offer care for self-pay health care services. This means that clients do not have to go through health insurance, and they don't have to wait to confirm coverage. Instead, they can submit their health care service bills directly to their insurance company to verify coverage and reimbursement. We're confident that this approach will help more people get the care they need, when they need it.
